How to Use the Dispatch Portal

Step-by-step instructions for every partner role — based on exactly how the app works today.

Independent operator

Solo Fitter

  1. 1

Log in to your Fitter Hub

Go to rescuefitter.co.uk/fitter. Enter the mobile number you registered with and tap Send Login Code →. You will receive a 6-digit SMS code. Enter it and tap Verify & Enter Hub →.

  2. 2

Receive a job ping via SMS

When a customer books in your area, you receive an SMS with a unique job link. Tap the link to open your Driver Portal for that specific job. The portal shows the vehicle details, tyre size, customer location, and your estimated payout.

Tip: Keep your phone unlocked when you are on duty — the job link in the SMS is your direct portal entry. No separate notification is required.

  3. 3

Call the customer and confirm your price

Tap 📞 Call Customer Now. Agree the final price for the tyre and fitting on the call. Then enter your Total Final Price (Tyre + Fitting) £ and select an Estimated Arrival Time (15–30 min, 30–45 min, 45–60 min, 60–90 min, or 90–120 min). Tap 🚀 Submit Quote for Approval.

  4. 4

    Wait for customer approval

The portal shows Waiting for Customer Approval with your quoted price and ETA. Do not travel yet. The portal polls automatically every 5 seconds. Once the customer approves, the screen advances immediately.

  5. 5

Confirm tyre availability and start route

After approval you are asked Do you have the tyre in your van?

    • Yes: Tap 🚐 I Have the Tyre — Start Live Route. GPS live tracking begins.
    • No: Tap 🛒 I Need to Pick Up the Tyre. The portal enters Sourcing mode — map is hidden and GPS is paused to save battery. Once you have the tyre, tap ✅ Tyre Secured — Start Route to Customer to re-activate live tracking.
  6. 6

    Navigate to the customer

The portal shows the customer map and a What3Words breakdown location link. Tap 🗺️ Navigate to Customer to open your SatNav app. Your GPS position updates to the customer every 2 minutes while the portal is open — the customer sees you moving on their live map.

Tip: Keep the Rescue Fitter tab open or return to it periodically so your location stays live for the customer.

  7. 7

    Confirm arrival (geofence check)

When you are physically on site, tap 📍 I've Arrived At Location. The portal verifies your GPS is within 200 metres of the breakdown location before stamping arrival. If you see "You must be within 200m...", wait for your GPS to update or move closer to the vehicle.

  8. 8

Complete the job and upload photo evidence

After fitting, tap ✅ Complete Job & Upload Photo. You will be walked through a 4-step evidence upload:

    • Step 1: New tyre fitted (photo)
    • Step 2: Replaced tyre / old tyre visible (photo)
    • Step 3: Vehicle tyre-pressure label or wheel (photo)
    • Step 4: Customer signature or confirmation

Tip: Photos are required to release payment. Take clear, well-lit shots before the customer drives away.

  9. 9

Collect payment from the customer on site

You collect 100% of the agreed tyre + fitting price directly from the customer — cash, card reader, or bank transfer, however you operate. Rescue Fitter charges the customer a separate dispatch fee (£25 day / £50 out-of-hours) automatically via Stripe. There are zero platform fees deducted from what the customer pays you.

  10. 10

If the customer doesn't appear (No-Show)

A 15-minute countdown starts from arrival. If the customer does not appear, tap 🚨 Report Customer No-Show. You will be prompted for an Evidence Photo showing the breakdown location, vehicle, or street sign. Tap 🚨 Submit Evidence & Claim Compensation. The Stripe hold is captured automatically and the customer is blacklisted.

Multiple vans, one account

Fleet Operator

  1. 1

    Register your fleet

Go to rescuefitter.co.uk/join and select Fleet Owner. Fill in your business name, owner name, and your central dispatch mobile number — all job SMS alerts for your fleet will be sent to this number. Submit the registration form.

  2. 2

Log in to your Fleet Hub

Go to rescuefitter.co.uk/fleet. Enter your central dispatch mobile number and tap Send Login Code →. Enter the 6-digit code from SMS and tap Verify & Enter Hub →.

  3. 3

    Upload your KYC documents

Your account starts in KYC Pending status. To go live you must upload two documents:

    • Business Insurance Certificate — tap Take Photo of Insurance Certificate
    • Photo ID — passport or driving licence — tap Take Photo of Your ID

Both documents are required. Tap Submit for Review when both are captured. The hub shows "Documents Uploaded — Under Review" and your team will receive an SMS to your dispatch number once approved by admin.

  4. 4

    Set your van count

In the Fleet Hub, update the Van Count to match the number of active vans in your fleet. This number is used to calculate your fleet's contribution to the network dispatch capacity.

  5. 5

    Configure your coverage zones

Add the geographic areas your fleet covers. Each zone represents a region your vans are available to respond in. Jobs will only be dispatched to your central number for locations inside your active zones. You can add and remove zones at any time from the Fleet Hub.

  6. 6

Toggle fleet availability online / offline

Use the online/offline toggle in the Fleet Hub to control whether your fleet receives dispatch SMS alerts. Toggle Online at the start of each shift and Offline when your vans are done for the day. Jobs will not be routed to your number while your fleet is offline.

  7. 7

    Receive and manage dispatched jobs

When a job is dispatched to your zone, your central dispatch number receives an SMS with the job details. Your fleet dashboard shows your cumulative jobs completed and earnings breakdown (Pending vs Cleared). Individual fitters respond to jobs using their own Driver Portal links.

Tip: Your fitters collect 100% of the job fee directly from the customer on completion. There are no platform fees to pay.
